The Origins of N.O.B. Apparel

N.O.B. represents my great-grandparents, Norman and Olga. Together, they birthed an amazing lineage! Many of us are creatives - visual artists, musicians, writers, producers, and actors- as well as scholars and activists. While we have our struggles, their values and fortitude helped to shape every aspect of our family. In a world where hate was the norm, they taught us to be fearless. Because of their guidance, we were able to strive for excellence without regret.

Their love and support helped me develop my creativity as well as tenacity. My great-grandfather reminded me that I could do all things. Had he been alive when I started this venture, he would've probably funded the entire operation! Despite coming from a time where women were meant to be nothing more than a pretty face, he never tried to silence me. Instead, he rewarded my independence. I will love him forever for that. 

Although I have more memories with my great-grandfather, my great-grandmother had equal impact on my life. The connection between genetics and talent should be studied, if not already. So many of my skills are directly linked to Olga Ri, it's scary! From gardening to cooking to baking, I am walking in her footsteps. It's a huge shadow to walk in, but my goal is to have a table as big as her heart and continue showering my family with the love that she soaked me in!

Without Norman and Olga, I don't know what version of Courtni the world would have gotten. NOB is homage to their impact on my life. Most importantly, it is a representation of the love I have for my family.
